Longer lifespan with the right water

All Comel ironing tables – including those with built-in steam boilers – work with regular tap water, making them easy to use without any special requirements. However, at Rigo, we strongly recommend using distilled water, as it prevents limescale buildup and significantly extends the lifespan of the equipment.

A great alternative is condensation water from a tumble dryer, which is clean enough for use in steam systems. This solution is eco-friendly and helps reduce maintenance costs over time.

When is it time to clean the system?

The cleaning frequency depends mostly on the quality of the water you use. If you work with distilled water or condensation water, cleaning will be needed much less often. Most Comel models don’t have a warning light, so users should look out for signs like weaker or less consistent steam output, which usually indicates limescale buildup and that cleaning is required.
